These were my first manufactured products.  In 1967, it was uncool to run an air filter.  The old brass Linkert was the carb of the era.  It was a common problem to have your pant leg sucked into the open venturi, which promptly killed the engine. The Bird Deflector eliminated the problem, so the became a must on thousands of the day’s choppers.  I advertised them, saying “they keep nesting birds, hand grenades, and pant legs out of your Linkert carb.” Today, you can still buy them, unchanged from the sixties.
