Well, it
seemed like a good name 50 years ago. Photos of it are rare, as
this was my first attempt at building a custom bike. All of the
work took place in my dad’s barn during the winter of 1951-51.
I drilled holes with an old “egg beater” hand drill, no
electricity. The light was poor, and it got cold…not an
easy project. A buddy worked in a body shop, and his boss let
me paint it there - flames no less. Later, my parents shipped
the bike to me while I was stationed in Amarillo, Texas. The
wannabe in the photo was an Air Force pal. I rode it to Ohio
(my next duty station) and traded it in on a 1952 K model.
