In 1952, I read a road test in the February
issue of “Cycle” magazine that got my juices flowing.
The test was of a Gamaunt sidecar. Unlike ordinary hacks, this
one had flexible joints, allowing the bike to be leaned into the
turns while the third wheel and the hack body followed. My
juices flowed for at least 40 or more years until I finally
found one at a swap meet. It followed me home and I built a
suitable rigid framed 1965 Panhead for it. Why this combo
didn’t make it big in the marketplace, I’ll never know. It sure
suits me.
